I have been watching way to much TV as of late and today I was watching a show called modern marvels.
The episode was talking about the technological advances of fire power during the civil war and the particular section I watched was about the Spencer Carbine. In the show they had a few quotes from diffrent union officers...one caught my as a bit rude. Here is the quote they used: "I believe 250 men armed with the Spencer Carbine rifle would be more than a match for an army of 2500 armed with any other weapon." Now you may ask why is this rude...well who do you think said that?? That's right...General George Armstrong Custer.
